DESCRIPTION:Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL) Chapter 45 invites individuals and families from throughout northwestern Minnesota to participate in a Family Walk to Celebrate Life on Saturday\, August 22\, in Fosston. \nThe event is intended to affirm the value of every human life while expressing support for both mothers and their babies. Organizers encourage people of all ages and members of area churches and communities to participate. \nParticipants should gather behind NAPA Auto Parts on Highway 2 by 9:45 am. The walk will begin promptly at 10 am and conclude approximately 30 minutes later at the Fosston Embassy Community Center. \nWalkers may carry signs provided by MCCL or bring their own positive\, life-affirming messages. \nFollowing the walk\, everyone is invited for a complimentary light lunch and a 45-minute program featuring music and guest speakers. \nScheduled speakers include:\n• Sarah Kjolhaug\n• Annie and Matt Howard\n• Todd Lundell\n• Mike Brouse\, President\, MCCL Chapter 45 \nSpecial music will be provided by Glen and Rosalie Larson. \nAccording to Chapter 45 President Mike Brouse\, the event offers an opportunity for area residents to stand together in support of life and to encourage greater compassion and assistance for women facing difficult pregnancies. \n“Our message is simple\,” Brouse said. “Support the mother. DESCRIPTION:The Granlund Lodge #240 of the Sons of Norway will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday\, September 10\, at 6:30 pm at the Embassy Community Center in Fosston.  After the meeting\, the annual soup and chili meal will be held followed by a program. Lori and Tennis Balstad\, will be sharing information and memories of their recent trip to Norway.  Members are encouraged to bring a soup or chili to share.  Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting\, lunch and program or just for the program which will begin at approximately 7:30 pm. \nIn addition to their monthly meeting\, come to Heritage Days at the East Polk Heritage Center in Fosston on Saturday\, September 12\, where Granlund Lodge will have a tent set up with events and displays from 9 am – 1:30 pm. In the Moen Schoolhouse\, demos and displays will be set up featuring Rosemaling\, Hardanger embroidery\, spinning\, basket weaving\, and lefse and krumkake to taste. Come out on Saturday\, September 12 from 9am to 1 pm and see what area fiber artists and farms are producing or show off your latest wearable fiber art in our informal Fashion Show at Noon. The Farmers Market features a wide variety of vendors as well\, with delicious foods\, vegetables and craft items in addition to our own talented fiber art vendors and farms. No entrance fee. Children and families are welcome. \nAt our Fashion Show\, anyone with handmade clothing or accessories is welcome to showcase their items. Bring your own handmade wearable fiber art to enter or come enjoy the entries. Entering items is free and the show is open to the public.
