The Sustainable Sheep and Fiber Community of Northern Minnesota (SSFC) is sponsoring an event featuring local fiber artists and speakers who will share their experiences and art with the community.  The event is Elder Wisdom on Saturday\, August 22 from 10 am to 1 pm at the American Legion in Bagley. This is free and open to the public. A light lunch is included. Free will donations are appreciated but not required. \nThis is an opportunity to learn from those who bring their experiences to life through art and presentations.  Come explore the art and travel with us as we share those experiences.

DESCRIPTION:Farm to Fiber Festival is in Park Rapids on September 12 from 9 am to 1 pm. \nCheck out all things fiber! \nThe Farm to Fiber Festival will again be in conjunction with the popular Park Rapids Farmers Market on Hwy 34 in Park Rapids\, MN across from Thielen Motors. Come out on Saturday\, September 12 from 9am to 1 pm and see what area fiber artists and farms are producing or show off your latest wearable fiber art in our informal Fashion Show at Noon. The Farmers Market features a wide variety of vendors as well\, with delicious foods\, vegetables and craft items in addition to our own talented fiber art vendors and farms. No entrance fee. Children and families are welcome. \nAt our Fashion Show\, anyone with handmade clothing or accessories is welcome to showcase their items. Bring your own handmade wearable fiber art to enter or come enjoy the entries. Entering items is free and the show is open to the public. Please register on Saturday morning if you plan to enter an item to show. \nDo some shopping\, stock up on craft projects\, yarns\, fiber\, clothing or art\, enjoy the beautiful northern Minnesota countryside and meet the farmers who produce the fibers that make our clothing\, arts and crafts possible.

DESCRIPTION:The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office is hosting an ATV Safety Class for interested operators ages 10 and older who wish to obtain their ATV Safety Certificate. \nAn ATV Safety Certificate is required in the State of MN for anyone born after July 1\, 1987.  Students who are 16 or older can take the online course only and do not need to attend a field day.  Visit http://www.dnr.state.mn.us for more information. \nThere are three steps: \nStep 1:  Contact Andy Anderson at 218-776-3112 Ext #104 or                                             andyanderson@clearbrook-gonvick.k12.mn.us to pre-register. \nStep 2:  Visit http://www.dnr.state.mn.us and click on “Education and Safety” > “Recreational Vehicle Safety Classes” and follow the links to take the online ATV Safety Course.  After the online course is complete\, print the certificate/voucher and bring it to the Field Day. \nStep 3:  Attend the Field Day: \nWhen:    Sunday\, October 11\, 2026.  Registration begins at 4:30 PM. \nClass starts at 5:00 PM \nWhere:  Clearbrook-Gonvick School\, 16770 Clearwater Lake Road\, \nClearbrook\, MN 56634  **Due to construction\, go to north \nParking Lot\, Door #11** \nStudents need to bring their voucher from the online course\, a helmet and proper riding attire (long pants\, no open toed shoes\, gloves\, eye protection and clothes appropriate for the weather).  A parent or guardian needs to attend the first part of the class for registration.
