DESCRIPTION:Fosston Public Library invites community members to join the library’s Book Club for a discussion of The Stolen Child by Ann Hood. Haunted by a decision he made as a young soldier in World War I\, involving a French artist and her baby\, Nick Burns\, with only months left to live\, enlists Jenny\, a college dropout\, to help him unravel the mystery\, forcing them both to reckon with regret\, betrayal and the lives they’ve left behind. The group will meet on Tuesday\, April 21 at 2 p.m. The library’s Book Club meets monthly to discuss great books and meet fellow readers. DESCRIPTION:Northern Exposure to Lifelong Learning (NELL) is blessed to welcome speaker Garrett Ebling on Wednesday\, April 29\, 2026\, at 9:30. Doors open at 9:00 am. \nProgram: Collapsed: “A Survivor’s climb from the Wreckage of the I-35 Bridge” \nLocation: McIntosh Community Center \n115 NW Broadway\, McIntosh\, MN \nGarrett Ebling\, survivor of the Interstate 35 W Bridge collapse\, recounts his experience and what it took for him to finally start moving forward again\, both physically and mentally. \nMinnesota native from New Ulm\, was one of more than 140 survivors of the Interstate 35W Bridge collapse on August 1\, 2007.  He endured a plethora of injuries that required six surgeries and two months in various hospitals. \nWhile his physical recovery and rehabilitation was immense\, it was the emotional aspects of post-trauma that left Garrett feeling “frozen\, confused and feeling helpless.” \nIn this presentation\, Garrett talks about his rescue\, both at the bridge site and what it took for him to start moving forward again. \nThere is no charge to attend this program.  Light morning refreshments will be served at 9:00 am (freewill).
