Clearwater County Historical Society to Host Market Day on August 29, 2026

August 29 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Clearwater County Historical Society invites the community to celebrate local artisans, agriculture, and heritage at its upcoming Market Day on Saturday, August 29, 2026. The event will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the History Center in Shevlin.

Visitors can explore a vibrant marketplace featuring a diverse lineup of local vendors. Two demonstrations will be featured: Lefse and sock knitting.

  • Colleen Lindgren – Homemade Jams and Jellies
  • Shevlin Garden Club – Perennials
  • Rita Vincent – Jewelry
  • Richard Swanson – Local Honey
  • Connie Nunemaker – Breads and Jewelry
  • Joann Steindl and Sue Anderson – Traditional Handmade Lefse 
Lefse will be made between 10:00- 11:00 and again between 1:00- and 2:00
  • Ivan Stauffer – Fresh Garden Vegetables
  • Jandi Theis – Crafts
  • Bernis Ingvaldson – Sock Knitting Demonstration between 10:00 and noon.
  • Merry Garden Farms – Fresh Garden Vegetables
  • Virgil Prestby – Fishing Items
  • Starla Rhodes – Tumbler Cups
  • Marie + Donny – Quilts

Note: some of the previous listed participating vendors have changed; more have been added and possibly more by Saturday!

In addition to shopping and supporting local creators, attendees can stop by the CCHS’s featured table to purchase raffle tickets for the museum quilt drawing. To keep visitors fueled throughout the day, a lunch will be served starting at 11:30 am and will remain

available until supplies run out. Mark your calendars for a wonderful day of community, food, and local craftsmanship in Shevlin!
