ATV Safety

The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office is hosting an ATV Safety Class for interested operators ages 10 and older who wish to obtain their ATV Safety Certificate.

An ATV Safety Certificate is required in the State of MN for anyone born after July 1, 1987.  Students who are 16 or older can take the online course only and do not need to attend a field day.  Visit http://www.dnr.state.mn.us for more information.

There are three steps:

Step 1:  Contact Andy Anderson at 218-776-3112 Ext #104 or                                             andyanderson@clearbrook-gonvick.k12.mn.us to pre-register.

Step 2:  Visit http://www.dnr.state.mn.us and click on “Education and Safety” > “Recreational Vehicle Safety Classes” and follow the links to take the online ATV Safety Course.  After the online course is complete, print the certificate/voucher and bring it to the Field Day.

Step 3:  Attend the Field Day:

When:    Sunday, October 11, 2026.  Registration begins at 4:30 PM.

Class starts at 5:00 PM

Where:  Clearbrook-Gonvick School, 16770 Clearwater Lake Road,

Clearbrook, MN 56634  **Due to construction, go to north

Parking Lot, Door #11**

Students need to bring their voucher from the online course, a helmet and proper riding attire (long pants, no open toed shoes, gloves, eye protection and clothes appropriate for the weather).  A parent or guardian needs to attend the first part of the class for registration.
