11th Annual UKC Dog Show
September 9 - September 11
The Paul Bunyan Dog Training Assoc. announced its 11th annual UKC licensed all breed dog show will be held September 9-11. The three-day event opens with a Rally Obedience competition at 8 am and two Conformation shows starting at 9 am each morning. All shows are located at the Commercial Building and the 4H Building at the Beltrami County Fairgrounds. Approximately 130 dogs will compete throughout the event for Best in Show, Rally Obedience and Total Dog Awards.
Apple Blossom Kennels will hold two precision lure coursing trials each on Sept. 10 and 11 in conjunction with the Paul Bunyan Dog Training Association’s dog show. The trials start at 10 am each morning.
According to the United Kennel Club website, the UKC Total Dog philosophy places an emphasis on dogs who shine in multiple disciplines. A sound, well-bred, well-adjusted dog can easily transition from the show ring to a performance event. They have the looks to excel as a proper specimen of their breed, while also having the brains and ability to perform athletically in a variety of sporting events. To earn a Total Dog award at a UKC show, a dog must place in a performance and conformation in the same day.
Food and beverages will be provided by Kazo Concessions, with a Twin Cities-based artist making an appearance to do artwork for any interested spectator and exhibitor.
Not only is this a fun FREE activity for spectators, but also it is also the perfect place to talk to specific breed experts about a wide variety of topics, ranging from training, grooming and the right breed for your lifestyle. Our exhibitors and judges come from several states and Canada. All spectators are welcome. Please leave your own pets at home, as club rules state that un-entered dogs may not be at the show.
